Foot & Ankle Surgery Podiatric Medicine
Dr. Ronald L. Soave is the Division Director of Podiatry at the Maimonides Bone & Joint Center. He is a highly-trained and experienced podiatrist, and treats a wide variety of conditions in adults and adolescents. Dr. Soave specializes in diabetic foot problems, flat foot deformities, fungal and other types of infections, sports injuries, arthritis, bunions, gout, hammertoe, heel pain, ulcer care, and other conditions requiring surgery. He offers operative and non-operative treatment options, and uses minimally-invasive techniques when appropriate. Dr. Soave also provides diabetic foot care, patient education and preventative care techniques. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Soave has received numerous awards and honors, published his work in peer reviewed journals and presented at national conferences
Dr. Ronald L. Soave recently joined the Maimonides Bone & Joint Center as the new Division Director of Podiatry.
Dr. Soave, a Brooklyn native, received his medical degree from New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Lindell Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Dr. Soave’s extensive clinical training allows him to treat a wide variety of conditions including diabetic foot problems, flat foot deformities, fungal and other types of infections, sports injuries, arthritis, bunions, gout, hammertoe, heel pain and ulcers. He offers both operative and non-operative treatment options for patients of all ages.
Dr. Soave is double board certified in Foot & Ankle Surgery and Podiatric Medicine. He has held leadership positions as NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital’s Cheif of Podietry and Residencey Director. He also held poistions as Chair of the Residency Review Committee and member of the Council on Podiatric Medical Education, as well as a Board Member for the Council of Teaching Hospitals.
Dr. Soave has multiple lifetime achievement awards – Jill R. Weiner Award for Distinguished Contributions to Podiatry in 2018, Integrity and Excellence in Podiatry Award in 2017, Podiatry Management’s VIP DPMS’ Movers and Shakers 2017: America’s Most Influential Podiatrists, Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York State Podiatric Medical Association in 2013, and the Special Achievement in Education Award from the New York State Podiatric Medical Association in 2003.
He has also received certification in Advanced Executive Leadership for Physicians, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons since 1985.
Dr. Soave’s work has been published in peer reviewed journals and presented at numerous conferences around the world. He also co-authored and published a book titled, Foot and Ankle: Medicine and Surgery, a reference guide for podiatric clinicians.
